René is a native of Lynchburg with over 30 years in the hair industry. She spent 10 years in salons before discovering her passion for barbering in a shop in 2002, where she worked for nearly 20 years. After a brief stint as a Certified Medical Assistant, she returned to barbering and joined Gentleman John’s in October 2022. Her passion was reignited by learning the Italian shave ritual with a fixed blade razor, and she now collects vintage blades. Proud mother of two daughters, René enjoys reading, live music, and spending time with her family. She is also an animal lover, with two dogs, two cats, and a tortoise.
